Yiorgos Zois was born in 1982 and lives in Athens. He studied Applied Mathematics and Physical Sciences at the National Technical University of Athens and Film Directing at the Berlin University of the Arts. His films have been screened at international festivals (Cannes, Venice, Rotterdam, Telluride, Palm Springs, Clermont Ferrand) and have received numerous awards and distinctions worldwide.
His first feature film, INTERRUPTION, which will be screened at the CINEphil_101 festival, premiered at the Venice Film Festival in 2015.
Yiorgos Zois is the honoured director of the 1st CINEphil_101. In addition to his participation in the Q&A section "Filmmakers Meet the Public" with the screening of the film "Interruption", the director's short films "Casus Belli" (2010), "Out of Frame" (2012), and "8th Continent" (2017) will be screened in the festival section "TRIBUTE: Yiorgos Zois."

STELIOS VIRVIDAKIS
PHILOSOPHERS MEET FILM
Stelios Virvidakis is Professor Emeritus of Philosophy (National and Kapodistrian University of Athens). He studied Philosophy at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Paris I University (Sorbonne-Panthéon), and Princeton University, where he received his PhD in 1984. He has taught at the American College of Greece (Deree), Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, the Hellenic Open University, and the Department of Philosophy of the University of Athens, where he has been Professor Emeritus of Philosophy since 2022. He has also taught as a visiting professor at the Universities of Cyprus, Rennes and Grenoble (France), Keio (Japan), Seoul National University (Korea), Masaryk University (Czech Republic), and Wuhan (China). He has given lectures at many other universities in Greece and abroad and has participated in numerous Greek and international conferences. His extensive published work includes monographs, edited collective volumes, and articles in Greek and international journals, mainly on topics of moral philosophy, epistemology, philosophy of religion, and philosophy of literature. He is director of the Editorial Committee of the philosophical journal Deucalion, a member of the Executive Committee of the FISP (Fédération internationale des sociétés philosophiques), a member of the European Cultural Parliament and the International Institute of Philosophy, and former President of the Board of Directors of the Center for Ancient Greek and Chinese Culture. He has been awarded the title of Chevalier dans l' ordre des Palmes Académiques by the French government. In the academic year 2024-2025, Stelios Virvidakis is a Visiting Professor at the "Michelis Chair" of the Department of Philosophy at the University of Crete, teaching Aesthetics and Philosophy of Art in the undergraduate program.
