CinePhil_101
Phil_101 means “Introduction to Philosophy,” and CINEphil_101 is its film festival!
CINEphil_101 International Philosophy Film Festival is unique among festivals in Greece and one of the few in the world to highlight the close relationship between philosophical reflection and art. The festival makes philosophy public through the critical lens of contemporary independent cinema, making the cinematic experience an occasion for reflection and dialogue.
CINEphil_101 asprires to create a vibrant hub of creativity and ideas, where cinema becomes an invitation to think, to question, and to discover new perspectives, expanding our understanding of the world and of ourselves.
The festival program includes an international feature film competition, special thematic screenings, discussions, and educational workshops, bringing together creators, academics, and the wider public.
CINEphil_101 is organized by the Department of Philosophy of the University of Crete and the non-profit cultural organization HE.art (Heraklion Art).
